Web Search Terms

Leashless for iPhone, version 1.1 and later. Last updated 21 October 2026.

These terms cover Leashless's free web search. It sends your question through Leashless's search relay to Brave Search, using my Brave account. You agree to these terms when you tap Allow on "Allow web search?" in the app, or when you turn on Allow web search in Settings. "I" and "me" mean Alexander Goodwin, who makes Leashless.

If you add your own Brave Search API key in Settings, your searches go straight to Brave under your own agreement with Brave, and these terms don't apply to them.

Using web search

Use it only through the Leashless app, for your own searches. Please don't:

Limits

The relay limits how often one connection can search, and it has a monthly budget. When the budget runs out, Leashless says web search is busy until the next month. You can still add your own Brave key.

I may limit, pause or stop the free web search at any time, and refuse requests that look like misuse.

Results

Search results come from Brave Search and from the websites it finds. I don't control them. The AI's answers built from them can be wrong, so check anything important.

Privacy

The relay keeps no record of your questions. See "When Leashless uses the internet" in the Privacy Policy for what is sent and to whom.

No guarantee

Web search is free and provided as it is. I can't promise it will always work or that results are right. As far as the law allows, I'm not responsible for losses that come from using it. Nothing here takes away rights the law gives you.

Changes

If I change these terms, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
